 Rikuya Terashima (Japan)
Born in Tokyo in 1964. Terashima studied at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, and acquired the Master’s degree in 1992.
He has been very active professionally both in composing and as a professional pianist.
His activities nowadays covers a great variety of fields, composing, concert planning and piano playing. Since 1999 Terashima has been music director of “International Art Festival for Children” in Bihoro.
His compositions include operas, orchestral, choral and instrumental works as well as works for traditional Japanese instruments.
Terashima has cooperated closely with the Japanese marimba player Momoko Kamiya, who
plays and has recorded most of his pieces for marimba.
