At twelve Bruce Levine became friends with Leonard Bernstein, a friendshop that lasted nearly thirty years.
Ar fourteen his carreer as a composer and oboist, specializing on the English Horn, began simultaneously and skyrocketed in tandem. He played with some of the major orchestras in the U.S.
Steadily turning out new compositions Leonard Bernstein said of his early works that they evinced "real musicality".
Recent commissions include a Sonata for xylophone and piano for renowned xylophonist Ian Finkel. Finkel has as well edited many of Bruce Levine´s percussion works now published by Norsk.
