Bart Quartier
Bart Quartier was born 1961 in Anderlecht, Belgium. After his classical percussion studies, Bart studied marimba with Robert Van Sice, and followed master classes with Keiko Abe, Gordon Stout, Steven Schick and others.He studied jazz music with guitarist Peter Hertmans, composition with pianist Diederik Wissels, and followed clinics by John Abercrombie, Mike Mainieri, Peter Erskine, Bob Malach, Kenny Werner, George Garzone and more.As a musician Bart has played with more than 40 orchestras and ensemble around the world.Besides his performing schedule he teaches mallets (classical and jazz) at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, and has worked with other teaching institutions around the world.Bart has several important previous publications on the market, like “Image” – 20 children songs for marimba.
