Mateusz Ryczek (*1986), composer, in 2008 graduated with honors Bachelor’s Degreein composition under the tuition of Grazyna Pstrokonska-Nawratil at the Music Academy in Wroclaw, Poland. Then he continued to study at the same university under the direction of Grazyna Pstrokońska-Nawratil, Cezary Duchnowski (computer composition) and Zbigniew Karnecki (music theater and film) and he receved final Master’s Degree with honors in 2011.

 
  He has won many competitions for composers (among other things: Crescendo in Tarnow – first prize, 2004; double bass’ composers’ competition in Word Bass Festival – first prize, 2008; Fides et Ratio – third prize, 2009), and as a result he was rewarded with a grant of the culture minister and the Marshal of Dolnoslaskie county.
Compositions of Mateusz Ryczek have frequently been performed in Poland and another countries (Germany, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Turkey, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Belarus, Russia, Switzerland, Austria, USA) including at festivals such as Warsaw Autumn (concerts Youth Circle PCU), Musica Polonica Nova, Musica Electronica Nova, Dialogs in Mińsk (Belarus) and Hallo Wrocław 2016! (Germany – Poland). He has participated in such projects as Missa Solemnis, Sound Factory, Flexible Orchestra (as the only non-USA person) and international project ”Music Masters on Air”and his music piece Sub-Deep of the Night was performed during 6 European festivals (in Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Turkey and Poland).
 
  Ryczek also has participated in such workshops and courses as Ostrava Days and Composer Collider with Ensemble MusikFabrik. 2006-2011 Ryczek had been an active member Cycle of Young Polish Composers’ Union and presently is member of Polish Composers’ Union.
 
  His monographic CD PLANETONY was published in 2013 by For Tune Publishing House.
